Top Food Hygiene Rating

SCRUM Kitchen are very proud to announce that they have been awarded the top Food Hygiene Rating of 5 by the Food Standards Agency.

This is an excellent achievement, particularly in the relatively short time SCRUM Kitchen has been operating, and reflects the care, professionalism, and high standards that underpin everything the team does behind the scenes.

What this means for SCRUM Kitchen

A Food Hygiene Rating of 5 is the highest possible score and confirms that food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen management are all operating at an exceptional standard. It is a clear recognition of the team’s commitment to best practice, strong systems, and a culture where doing things properly matters every single day.

For the SCRUM Kitchen team, it is a moment of real pride. It validates the hard work that goes into food preparation, training, cleaning routines, and compliance, often unseen by customers but essential to delivering a great experience.

What it means for the rugby club

For Canterbury Rugby Football Club, this rating reinforces confidence in one of its most important community spaces. SCRUM Kitchen is at the heart of matchdays, training nights, family breakfasts, and social events, and this award demonstrates that the clubhouse kitchen is being run to the very highest standards.

It also reflects positively on the club as a whole, showing that Canterbury RFC takes its responsibilities to members, visitors, volunteers, and partners seriously, on and off the pitch.

What it means for everyone who eats there

For players, parents, supporters, sponsors, and members of the public, a 5 rating provides reassurance and peace of mind. It means food is being prepared in a clean, well-managed environment by a team that puts safety and quality first.

Whether it’s a Big SCRUM breakfast, a pre-match lunch, pizza night after training, or a coffee on a Sunday morning, customers can enjoy their food knowing it meets the highest national standards.

A standard the team is proud to uphold

This award is not a finish line, but a benchmark SCRUM Kitchen is proud to maintain. The focus remains on fresh, locally sourced ingredients, consistent quality, and a welcoming environment for the whole community.

SCRUM Kitchen: Made with pride, served with heart, bringing local ingredients to our community table.
