Its our birthday!
One year ago today, SCRUM Kitchen opened its doors at Canterbury Rugby Club.
What started as an exciting new chapter for the club has quickly become an important part of life at the Marine Travel Ground. From early morning breakfasts and matchday hospitality to pre match lunches, private functions, celebrations and Wednesday Pizza Nights, SCRUM Kitchen has welcomed thousands of visitors through its doors over the past twelve months.
At the heart of that success is Lou and her team, whose passion, hard work and commitment to quality have helped create something that has become much more than a rugby club kitchen. SCRUM Kitchen has become a place where players, supporters, families, local businesses and members of the wider community can come together over great food and good company.
Over the last year the team has catered for everything from grassroots rugby festivals and senior matchdays to private celebrations, business events and club functions. They have played a key role in helping make Canterbury Rugby Club a welcoming destination seven days a week.
No anniversary celebration would be complete without mentioning Pickle. Over the past year, our four legged mascot has become a familiar face around the club, popping up at events, inspecting breakfasts, supervising pizzas and ensuring standards remain exceptionally high. While Lou runs the kitchen, Pickle remains firmly in charge of quality control.
Thank you to Lou, the entire SCRUM Kitchen team, our customers and everyone who has supported the journey so far.
Here’s to the next chapter.
